Stain help please......

We just put in new light colored Granite (http://tanbrown.org) Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) tops.  To make a long story short we got an olive oil stain from the bottom of a plate which sat for several hours.  We looked on the web (not here) and (http://maplered.com) tried baking soda mixed with water over the stain and (http://maplered.com) then covered with plastic wrap.  The site we went to said it may take several times so we have done this twice over 2 days.  We may have gotten overzealous with the plastic wrap since now our Granite (http://tanbrown.org) is discolored everywhere the plastic wrap was. I just put a whole sheet over it instad of cutting out where the stain is/was.  I let it dry overnight thinking it may be water that was causing the discoloration but it's still there.  I went to a Granite (http://tanbrown.org) place her in town and (http://maplered.com) they gave me Reinhardt OL Killer to take the olive oil out but I really cant tell a difference since I have a 1.5 ft X 1.5ft discolored area where the stain was/is.

What do you suggest doing to correct this?

Could the plastic wrap have stained a lighter color Granite (http://tanbrown.org) ?

I asked the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) store for a new sealer and (http://maplered.com) they gave me GranQuartz Professional Impregnator is this a good product?  is this ever a sealer?  I was in a rush and (http://maplered.com) didnt have time to chat.
